Book Reviewing: The Introduction

Book reviews gives the reader basic information about a specific book, whether long or short. Spoilers should be warned, and in a book; the plot, grammar, pacing will be analyzed and discussed briefly. A book review is criticism but in a respectable manner, because remember, these are people too. Also remember, that people worked hard on these books, and if you have a strong opinion, don’t fill the space with extreme negativity.

On my Book Blog, I will do other things besides book reviews, and I’m excited to share that. Book recommendations, ranting, this is what makes a book blog thrive I believe.

Book reviewing can help both reader and writer. It can help with receiving or understanding a story you’ve read in a way that you couldn’t before. A book review may answer questions that you had, but couldn’t find the answer to, even when you read the book over. It can enhance writing skills, and allow you to blossom as a beginner writer, and allow you to blossom with more perceptive skills as a reader.

Horror genre books have always been a personal favorite of mine. It is one of the sole reasons why I decided to create a Book Review blog. I also plan to become a successful writer in the Horror genre field.

  • Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson
  • Hell House by Richard Matheson
  • Bunny by Mona Awad
  • The Winter People by Jennifer McMahon

These are the first few books you will receive a book review on. Again, the Horror genre is what these books reviews are about. Although, I may take other genre requests as this blog grows. This will be discussed at a later time.

My first blog post after this introduction will be book recommendations for the horror fans out in the world. Also, I’ve never read any of these books, these are going to also be books I do reviews on.

Each book is labeled ‘horror’ and ‘spooky’, and each is supposed to ‘wow’ the reader. I’m excited to read these books, because I’ve heard great things about them, and I want to come to my own conclusions.

My posting schedule will be Monday’s at 10AM CST. This is a trial to see how they do on Monday’s! I will post once a week, just until I am able to get more books to read, to afford to write multiple book reviews a week. Honestly though, I probably will only go up to 2 book reviews per week, because I’m also working on writing short fiction stories, and my first novel.

These book reviews are here for you, to inspire you to either pick up the book, or put it down. Reading is fundamental and very important for everyone, no matter what genre of books you like.

That’s it for my first blog post, and I hope you’re excited about what is to come. You can start commenting horror book recommendations, and I will get to them whenever I can. Also, don’t forget to follow my Pinterest, because I post my photography there. Follow my Instagram also, because I’m trying to build my community!
