*SPOILER WARNING

This was such a cute story.

This is my first time trying a graphic novel, and I loved it. It hooked very early on me and I wanted to see where the story would take me. It is a very wholesome story that had me smiling throughout the entire novel. This is a feel-good book that I can definitely see myself reading again soon.

One thing I love about this book is the art style.

I love the color scheme and the overall vibe; I thought it contributed to the story well. I loved how the characters looked and how emotions and facial expressions were expressed through this style. If you know me, then you’d know that I love Art, and I’m currently self-teaching myself to draw. That being said, this art style speaks to me, and I find it aesthetically pleasing.

One thing I disliked about the book is the cliffhanger.

I know that that’s to keep the reader engaged, but I could’ve gone without it. However, just because I’m upset by the ending, doesn’t mean that I thought it was bad, It was a nice ending and cliffhanger aside; I liked the route it went.

My favorite quote from this novel is:

You can’t tell whether people are gay by what they look like. And gay or straight aren’t the only two options.

Heartstopper: Volume 1, Pg: 204

I love Charlie’s and Nick’s character. I think they are adorable and I’ve decided that they are my family. I want good things for the both of them. This being my first graphic novel has me wanting to read more, and I plan to. As I am typing this, I’m thinking about starting another graphic novel I purchased, “Paper Girls”.

Rating: ★★★★½ (4.5/5)

I will have to purchase the next volume of this because I really want to know what happens next. I truly had fun reading this story, and I recommend this for people who love light and quick reads. This would also be great for young adults and those who enjoy romances.
